Big Fat Thanks

A special shout out to Kathy's cooking colleagues at Pacific Northwest Magazine for a scrumptious selection of homemade soups. A delicious surprise that will see us through many days.

Hey, all who've called, e-mailed and otherwise extended good wishes, thoughts and prayers. We're humbled and grateful.

It's about time to hit the sack and ready for the morning's adventures. We'll keep in touch as we can. Well, Kathy will be doing that for at least a little while.

Thanks, too, to Peggy in Pittsburgh for the grits (right). More shrimp and grits were consumed here at the Saul house in the past week. Where do you get South Carolina grits in Pennsylvania?

  4. Great news! Looking forward to a personal campaign story by the general himself.

I'm posting a note from Julie Smith: "It's great that John is doing OK. We'd like to bring over a meal. Please call me when we can do this for you. 425 828 0208"

  5. Hey John. So glad to hear all went well. I was up at Cavanaugh last week watching the moss grow when a huge eagle flew right past our cabin then perched in the tree next to your place. We're looking forward to seeing up there on the dock this summer all mended, basking in the sun. (I think the sun is still planning on returning!) Our thoughts are with you. -- Teresa (& Eric)

  6. John B Saul,
If you will recall the last time you were in a similar fix with clots I sent you one of the rugby boots I had on when I scored the winning try at the New England Rugby Tournament Championship game in double overtime. This is one of those times when you can call on the karma of the boot. I know you are the kind of player who can dig deep and pull this out! Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
