There's a certain morbid curiosity that goes along with watching your body when you're under a doctor's (or doctors') care. Like how is it that right now I'm having a nose bleed that I can't get to stop while at the same time my legs have blood clots that won't go away. Does that mean the Coumadin is working or not?
It's been a week since I dropped back to being on only the one blood medicine (Coumadin or warfarin), and it was an up and down week as far as the therapeutic levels were concerned. The right number for me is somewhere between 2 and 3. One week ago today, my number was 1.3. So they upped the dosage and by Friday it was up to 2. Today, it came in at 2.5, which is right smack dab in the middle of the upper and lower numbers. Maybe that's why I can have a nose bleed and swollen ankles at the same time.
So the curious trip continues with good news from the eye doc today who gave me clearance to drive again (watch out, Seattle!).
All in all, I'm on the mend, but impatient that it is not going faster. I'm trying to keep in perspective that being exhausted after walking two miles yesterday is a long ways from being exhausted two months ago after walking to the nurse's station.
*If your nose runs and your feet smell, you're built upside down. You remember now, don't you?
I will be having my sphenoid meningioma removed @ harborview in Aug or Sep. I learned of your blog through Naomi's & have appreciated the info.
ReplyDeleteYeah for driving!
